Overview

Wendy J. Truran earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her scholarship focuses on Modernist literature, affect, and structures of feeling. She has published work in several edited collections including on W.B. Yeats (Irish Modernism, Edinburgh University Press, 2020); James Joyce with Vicki Mahaffey (Ulysses: Philosophical Perspectives, Oxford University Press, 2020); and May Sinclair (May Sinclair: Re-Thinking Bodies and Minds, Edinburgh University Press, 2017). She is a co-Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Capacious: Journal for Emerging Affect Inquiry. At Georgia Tech she has recently taught causes such as “Transnational Modernist Poetry” and “Multimodal Moods of Modernism.” She is the chair of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Committee in the Writing and Communication Program at Georgia Tech and has recently taught a course focusing on fostering academic resilience.
