Overview

Dr. Lucas Power is a scholar of digital studies. He focuses on data as the extension of the self in the 80s and 90s and data as commodity in the new millennium. His manuscript-in-progress, titled Society Must Be Defragmented: Data Shadows and Computational Life, details the emergence and aftermath of data's integration into public discourse to explore the links of hope and frustration on the Internet. His work has appeared in PMLA. Before coming to Georgia Tech, he taught in the Thompson Writing Program, Global Cultural Studies, and Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies at Duke University.
