1. What do you do?

As part of my job at the Atlanta Regional Commission, I handle social media, newsletters, blogs, etc. I primarily work with aging and workforce departments at my job. I am also a poet.

2. What’s the coolest part of your job?

I enjoy being able to attend and assist with wonderful events, seeing the hard work pay off, and then writing about it. As a poet, the coolest part is connecting with poets all around the world.

3. Why are you passionate about it?

I have always loved writing. So, I am passionate about the job because I get to write. Working at Atlanta Regional, I also feel like I’m doing something meaningful within the community.

4. Which skills from your IAC degree have helped you be successful in this career?

Courses like technical writing and video production have definitely helped, as well as learning how to use a camera, journalism writing courses, etc.

5. What’s your #1 tip for students and alumni interested in your field?

Be willing to put yourself out there, take additional writing and social media courses, and network!
