Personal Quote

I came to Georgia Tech not knowing exactly what I wanted to do, but knowing that I liked computers and I liked media. Given those facts, Computational Media seemed like a good fit for me. As I went through CM I drew more and more towards video games, finding them not only entertaining, but interesting as media and largely unexplored. A few industry internships and a bit of undergraduate research later, I graduated with offers from both academia and industry and decided to go for my PhD in Computer Science here at Georgia Tech. Now I use my unique blend of computational and media-oriented thinking to work on making computers more creative.

My current research got a nice write-up in WIRED (http://www.wired.com/2015/06/mario-level-creator-ai/) and my portfolio is at guzdial.com(though it's woefully out of date).
