“LMC has played an important role in allowing me to explore and gain competency in the humanities and the sciences. As a humanities major in a STEM focused school, I have analyzed the effects of science, medicine, and technology on the people they’re intended for, noting the range of effects that occur based on an individual’s physical and social circumstances and molding my humanistic perspective of medicine. Through the opportunities presented to me here, I’ve worked with dedicated, passionate faculty on research projects that examined women doctors in the Middle East and India and the intersections of bioterrorism and race. Leaving Tech means I’m leaving behind my LMC pre-med labels and all the amazing opportunities and memories here, but I’m picking up the new label of a medical student as I continue the next step of my education at The George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences!”
