Ellie Morton

Background

I’m a 4th year CM major and Industrial Design minor interested in user experience design and product management.

I took a Wearable Technology course where I worked with a group to design and build a garment for a drag queen. It was so cool to work with a drag queen throughout the semester to build a project that would work well for one of her performances.

CM classes are very project-based which is a great way to build your skills, let your unique interests shine through, and showcase your work on your portfolio!

I aspire to be a user experience designer or product manager. I’ve interned in digital marketing and user experience design roles and loved learning more about those fields. No matter what my future job titles are, I know I will be working to make products better for people to use!

Work Experience

I am a research intern at Carnegie Mellon University’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute. I am designing the student-facing version of existing educational software, as well as editing a series of videos in which college students offer advice for overcoming challenges.
