LMC Team Publishes Article on Feminist Teaching

Faculty, alumni, and Ph.D. candidates from the School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) published an article titled "Mess and Making Matters in Feminist Teaching" in Catalyst. Nassim Parvin, associate professor in LMC and M.S. DM 2003, and Rebecca Rouse, Ph.D. DM 2013, co-authored the article. Anne Sullivan, assistant professor in LMC; Aditya Anupam, Ph.D. DM 2021; Nettrice Gaskins, Ph.D. DM 2014; Pooja Casula, Ph.D. DM candidate, and Shubhangi Gupta, Ph.D. DM candidate, also collaborated on the piece.

In the article, the group shares examples of interdisciplinary work in feminist making and teaching in various contexts to expand the discussion of materials in feminist thought. Some contexts in the article include using artificial intelligence to design portraits, printmaking, quilting, musical performance, game design, theater, and storytelling.
